Color! Texture! Ceramic cacti and smiley face planters! Falling pretty hard for interiors shop Serax with their beautiful and varied treasures. Alas they aren't in the US, but still, we can ogle.

Doug Aitken's acid modernism

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

When a photo series of an interior space is titled "Acid Modernism," ya just about know you're in for a treat. Ye Rin Mok captures artist Doug Aitken's insanely beautiful, tumbled-down-the-rabbit-hole-&-landed-in-verdant-bloomin'-heaven home, and the results are eye widening - painted greenery crawling across rooms, an entire wall of sunset-toned stained glass, mirrors refracting a room's angles, confusing things just a bit. I love Aitken's word works, and this peak shows us that holy hell, the creativity does not stop there. Absolutely wondrous; I'm in love.

Swedish archipelago

Monday, September 30, 2013

Oh my oh my, oh. These photos of an isolated mid-century home in the northern Swedish archipelago are the stuff of fever dreams. I am swooning over the so-cozy green living room space, the charm of blue/white gingham bed linens, and the hazy sunshine pouring through the windows. Head swimmingly gorgeous photographs by Felix Odell. Hard to believe this is real life, right?

Rinne Allen

Thursday, September 26, 2013

Today's weather is simply magical. I woke up at around 8, opened all of the windows in my living room as usual, and woosh! The wind practically blew me over. I've been sweeping up crunchy little leaves and flower petals all day. It's all doing a very good job to help convince me that fall has in fact arrived.

These photos of Athens, Georgia-based artist Rinne Allen's beautiful studio are killing me with their autumnal vibes: baskets of pretty, faded textiles, stacks of feathery porcelain, green leaves atop wooden floors. Enjoy today, wherever you are, whatever the weather.

You know that emoji with the hearts for eyes? That's how I feel when I look at this incredible space styled by the owner of Stockholm-based interiors shop Mimmi Staaf. This whole look really hits the nail on the head for me - clean, lots of light, still bright and lively. Is it weird that my favorite detail is the stacking desk boxes? The colors! I so hope it makes up for my absence yesterday - I was traveling to New Jersey and chose a bag of 479° caramel popcorn (the best) over in-air internet.

I am swooning for the sparse + organic elements of this home (and shop, Mono) in Buenos Aires photographed by Freunde von Freuden. I spent 5 months living in that city, and am feeling a bit like I missed something BIG having not stumbled across these stunning habitats...
